Cacao Journey

An Invitation to Sit with Cacao
If you’ve never sat with cacao before, you’re not alone. Many people who come here don’t really know what to expect.
Some arrive with curiosity. Others come because life has been feeling heavy, because they are moving through a transition, or because something inside has been asking them to slow down.
Whatever brought you here, you’re welcome.
After years of sharing cacao, I have come to know it as a medicine of love, forgiveness, honesty and happiness.
I have witnessed people soften, even for a moment, and create space for what has been waiting inside them. Sometimes words appear that have never been spoken before. Sometimes something forgotten is gently remembered.
That is one of the things I love most about sharing cacao. It reminds us that we do not always need to have all the answers. Sometimes we simply need a place where we can listen honestly to our own hearts.
My Relationship with Cacao
My relationship with cacao deepened through the teachings of Tata Izaias Sajvin Mendoza and Nana Ana Isabel Pérez from San Marcos La Laguna, Guatemala.
They taught me how to prepare and serve cacao with deep respect for the traditions that have carried this plant through generations.
They taught me that serving cacao is not simply about preparing a drink. It is about caring for a relationship with the plant, with the Earth, with the people who have protected this wisdom, and with every person who comes to sit in front of you.
It is with that same respect, gratitude, and humility that I continue to share cacao today.

What Happens During a Cacao Journey
We begin by sharing cacao together.
Before each gathering, I take into consideration the Nawal of the day, honoring the wisdom of the Maya calendar and the energy that accompanies our time together.
As we sit with cacao, I accompany the experience with a live sound journey through my voice, the drum, Himalayan bowls, other ancestral instruments, and moments of silence.
Sound becomes another companion, gently supporting the experience and creating a place where you can listen, reflect, and reconnect with yourself.
There is no single way to experience cacao.
We may laugh, cry, remember, forgive, reflect, or simply enjoy being still for a moment in a world that often moves too quickly.
Cacao has a quiet way of revealing what is ready to be seen, always in its own time.
Gathering Together
Cacao journeys are offered as private sessions and intimate group gatherings at Quinta LoCura, my home in the mountains of Puriscal, Costa Rica.
We gather simply. We share cacao, sound, conversation when words are needed, and silence when they are not.
A moment to step away from the noise of everyday life and spend time with yourself in a different way.

An Invitation
